Our mission is to prevent suicide by erasing the stigma of mental illness and promoting optimal mental wellness. To do this, we work in five areas: stigma reduction; community engagement; education and programming; policy and advocacy; and, measurement and data. These overlapping and intersecting pillars support our goal of working with educators, parents and youth in Greater Cincinnati.
Mental wellness is essential and one of the ways we promote it is through self-care and relationship building. We hope that our "WHO'S IN YOUR POD" campaign will encourage people to give to 1N5 but also think about their mental health support system. For every donation of $50 or more, 1N5 will give you an Under the Weather pod to remind you to prioritize your mental health. This offer is valid for in person pick up (no shipping) and while supplies last.
Currently, we are adapting how we go about this to meet the needs of virtual and/or hybrid learning. This requires constant assessments and adjustments to determine how we can best achieve mental wellness for our local youth. Some of the support we are providing at no cost include: mindfulness sessions; videos and webinars on a range of mental health and wellness topics for educators, students and caregivers; mental wellness toolkits for teachers and principals; and suicide prevention training. These are in addition to storytelling, our podcast and extensive social media presence and the customized, evidence based educational programming.
Our ability to provide these services for the benefit of our youth is directly linked to the support of our community. Your donations are essential to our work of Stopping the Stigma and Starting the Conversation about mental health.
