Hope Ignites Cincinnati

Hope Ignites Cincinnati (formerly Boys Hope Girls Hope of Cincinnati), founded in 1977 by Jesuit Father Paul Sheridan, has a long-standing mission of nurturing motivated young people facing significant barriers to achieve their full potential. The organization serves students from 5th grade through college, providing a continuum of academic, residential, and personal development programs that combine research-based academic support, mentorship, and holistic wrap-around services, including nutritious meals, transportation, socio-emotional support, and financial assistance.

Hope Ignites emphasizes not only academic excellence but also moral character, compassion, leadership, and a commitment to community service. Scholars engage in community projects, college and career exploration, and guided goal-setting, helping them envision and pursue a future of economic self-sufficiency and meaningful impact. By addressing the whole student, mind, body, and spirit, Hope Ignites empowers participants to overcome challenges, achieve post-secondary success, and become leaders and changemakers who carry hope, integrity, and service into their communities.

Currently serving 146 students, Hope Ignites anticipates reaching 250+ scholars by 2026–27 through expanded school partnerships, while supporting 400+ alumni in their post-secondary pursuits. Through its holistic, student-centered approach, Hope Ignites continues to walk alongside each scholar on their journey, ensuring that no motivated young person’s potential goes unrealized.
