We are raising money to provide financial assistance with mental health services to children and adults in our local communities that are uninsured or underinsured. In addition, our goals include educating our community on mental health as well as providing preventative programs to local schools.

Our Story
Catalyst Counseling Foundation was founded in 2019 by Catalyst Counseling LLC's Co-Owners, Lindsay Back, LPCC-S, RPT-S and Christy Hughes, LISW-S.
Lindsay Back, LPCC-S, RPT-SHave you ever wondered why Catalyst grew and grew so fast? We grew to meet needs. We grew to close gaps. And we grew to remove barriers to services. Our growth came out of a fight for people...local kids, our therapists, and our community. How do you say no to a local school pleading for help? How do you turn away kids if building therapists get full? And how do you ask therapists to compromise quality by taking on more clients? You don’t. You hustle, you hire, and you build an organization that can handle it.
Our fight has been to hire additional therapists for each school building to keep up with the need so we’re not turning away kids. And our fight has been to “friendly stalk” private insurance companies until we pierced through almost every commercial panel. But what about families that are uninsured or underinsured? What if a family has a $5,000 or $10,000 deductible and can’t afford to pay out of pocket until they reach their deductible?
We’re proud to announce that we have established the Catalyst Counseling Foundation, a separate non-profit organization developed to help us CLOSE GAPS in care! We want to raise money to help cover the cost of mental health services for uninsured and underinsured kids. The fight is not over; we’re just getting started.
We may not be able to close gaps across the world, but if we put our heads and our hearts together, we can change the whole world of people right in our community by giving them access to quality mental health care!
Our Mission
We strive to empower families and educators to elevate beyond the stigma of mental health by bridging gaps in treatment and mental health education.
As we break through financial and access barriers, we can educate the community and school employees by hosting mental health awareness raising interventions. We also are able to provide funding for mental health services to children and adults who carry a heavy financial burden and are unable to fund treatment independently. We strongly believe that everyone deserves to live the best version of their life and the goal is to make sure this is accomplished through our foundation.
To accomplish our mission our goal is to offer our financial assistance program, provided on a sliding scale fee and based on income. Once approved, our applicants are then connected to a licensed counselor through our partnership with Catalyst Counseling, LLC for ease and accessible care.
Catalyst Counseling Foundation is excited to offer prevention groups. We will be funding these groups for local school districts in which our partners, Catalyst Counseling, LLC , are providing services for. Their mental health therapists and trained interns will be facilitating the groups.
Facilitators will be using the evidenced based, MindUP Curriculum. MindUP For Schools is an evidence-based program that has been shown to increase pro-social actions, decrease aggressive behaviors, and improve academic achievement. Our foundation’s goal is to encourage mindful, positive mental health behaviors within these small-groups, alongside their peers. This setting can cultivate connection for a sense of belonging and support.
Our ability to provide these services is directly linked to the support of our community. Your donations are imperative in order for us to Close Gaps in mental health care.
