Founded in 2021, the Hub is the Cincinnati-area's most comprehensive facility for hard-to-recycle materials. We serve thousands of residents, organizations, and companies in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana who strive to decrease their environmental impact. The Hub accepts materials such as styrofoam, metal, soft and rigid plastics, electronics, certain textiles, and more — diverting them from landfills through recycling or reuse.
We also provide many local programs including:
• Lithium battery collection: We facilitate free battery drop-offs for residents at 15 different fire stations throughout the tri-state.
• The Tinker Team: Volunteers at the Hub that attempt to repair dropped-off "broken" electronics. This team has a 55% success rate and we donate fixed appliances to New Life Furntiure Bank for local residents in need.
• Education Outreach: We travel to schools to educate local students about the importance reducing, reusing, and recycling.
• Pantry Partnership Program: We collect hard-to-recycle materials from local food pantries to decrease their environmental impact and to cut down their trash service costs.
OurPantry Partnership Program is creating an enormous financial demand on the Hub. We serve 25–30 local food pantries and do not charge for our services so they can use their funding to alleviate food insecurity. We collect thousands of pounds of material from each pantry and the cost to process that amount is growing beyond our means. Through the Cincy Gives campaign, our goal is to receive the necessary support to keep our Pantry Partnership Program running. Please give today so we can help our local pantries reduce their environmental impact and lower their waste costs.
