Commonwealth Artists Student Theatre Inc

CAST is on a mission to transform high school theatre communities and inspire personal growth and creativity.  We believe that we can bridge the socio-economic, racial, gender, and geographical hurdles to provide all area high school students the opportunity to collaborate and celebrate through theatre. 

We pursue this by being a collaboration hub that:

• Recognizes achievements for students and schools that thrive in the performing arts

 

CAST envisions a thriving, interconnected regional theatre community where every high school student—onstage or backstage—has equitable access to transformational arts experiences, expert mentorship, and creative leadership opportunities. We strive to foster the next generation of confident, collaborative, and compassionate artists by uniting schools, empowering educators, and celebrating student achievement across the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region.

Our Programming

                

This year, we have joined forces with the Cincinnati Arts Association and Broadway Across Cincinnati to support and celebrate our region's high school musical theatre programming. This collaboration is providing world class master classes with professional theatre artists, technical theatre workshops, educator support, access to resources, and providing unique experiences and discounts our regional theatres through the Passport Program. Help us cultivate the next leader, the next designer, the next engineer, or the next artist by providing the means for all area teens to participate in the Queen City Theatre Collaborative!

Our Impact So Far: 

• 125 students participating in 2 summer productions annually
• 28 area high schools served annually
• 2000 students served annually at 8 mentor school programs each year
• 93% of our students go on to higher education pursuits
• Student participants report increased leadership skills, technical understanding, and empathy towards others
• Connected pipeline of local collegiate theatre to perspective students.
• Connected pipeline of employment for students at local and regional theatres.
• 9% of summer participants were scholarship recipients from CAST

We served 126 students in our summer productions with an additional 2000 students during the school year. The impact of your gifts will be felt directly by the students we serve in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
