Help us Save the Storehouse!

Founded in 2011, the Ludlow Heritage Museum (LHM) is dedicated to preserving the city’s history and revitalizing its cultural landscape. Central to this mission is the restoration of the historic Storehouse, built in 1893 as the Offices and Stores building for the once expansive Ludlow Rail Yards, a critical hub for the Cincinnati Southern Railroad. Abandoned for many years, the Storehouse has been entrusted to LHM through an agreement with Norfolk Southern Corporation.

Since the closure of the railyards in 1968, Ludlow has experienced decades of economic and population decline. Revitalizing the Storehouse will not only preserve a significant piece of the city’s heritage, but also create an anchor institution capable of driving future growth.

The Ludlow Heritage Museum has partnered with Norfolk Southern Corporation to save and restore the Railyard Storehouse as the Museum's future headquarters and exhibit space.

This ambitious $2.5 million project will unfold across six planned phases, designed to maintain the building’s historic character while adapting it for modern use. When complete, the redesigned facility will feature a large exhibition gallery and flexible meeting and event space. This redevelopment will serve as a catalyst for Ludlow’s revitalization by drawing visitors into the town center, supporting local commerce, creating opportunities, and fostering civic pride.
