Lakota Robotics: Inspiring Tomorrow’s Innovators

Lakota Robotics is a community-based STEM education program located at the Paul George STEM Center in Liberty Township, Ohio. We proudly represent students from more than 14 school districts across Greater Cincinnati and provide hands-on robotics, engineering, and technology experiences for students in grades 4–12.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to inspire young people to explore science and technology through creative, hands-on learning that builds confidence, leadership, and real-world skills. We prepare students to make meaningful contributions in their communities and the world.

Volunteer-Driven, Sponsor-Supported

Lakota Robotics operates entirely through the dedication of volunteers. We have no paid staff—our mentors include engineers, educators, and professionals who dedicate their personal time to guide students in careers they love. Their expertise and commitment bring STEM learning to life for every student who walks through our doors.

We rely on sponsors and community partners to keep our programs and the Paul George STEM Center running and accessible. Your support helps us purchase materials, maintain equipment, and provide opportunities that inspire the next generation of innovators.

Programs That Build Future Leaders

Lakota Robotics follows the internationally recognized FIRST® Robotics model, offering programs that inspire curiosity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

  • FIRST LEGO League (FLL) – For students in grades 4–6, focused on creativity, design, and collaboration.

  • FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) – For students in grades 7–12, where teams design, build, and program full-scale robots to compete at regional and national events.

Our FLL program acts as a feeder program for our FRC team, helping students grow from curious beginners to confident builders, programmers, and leaders.

Beyond Competition

Our impact extends far beyond the competition field. Lakota Robotics hosts STEM summer camps, Girl Scout badge workshops, and community outreach events throughout the year. These experiences introduce students to new technologies, strengthen teamwork, and spark lifelong interest in STEM careers.

In addition to supporting our mission, our summer camps, workshops, and annual fundraising events also provide important income to sustain the Paul George STEM Center. These events allow us to expand our resources, fund new initiatives, and continue offering programs free of charge for every student who participates in robotics.

Honoring a Legacy of Service

The Paul George STEM Center is named in honor of Paul George, a Procter & Gamble engineer and long-time volunteer who dedicated over 30 years to the FIRST® Robotics mission. His legacy lives on in every student and mentor who continues to learn, teach, and innovate within our walls.

Community Impact

Lakota Robotics empowers students to develop skills in coding, CAD, mechanical design, project management, and leadership—skills that prepare them for success in college, careers, and life. Our program fosters collaboration between students, schools, mentors, and local businesses, creating a true community of innovation and opportunity.

Get Involved

Everyone has a place at Lakota Robotics, from sponsors and mentors to students. Whether you’d like to volunteer, become a corporate partner, or attend one of our fundraising events, your involvement helps us continue to make STEM education accessible to all.
