Going back to school can bring hope and opportunities to an individual as well as financial burdens. We are asking for your help in NKCAC's goal to send seniors back to school to recieve training for a 2nd career at no cost to them! 

NKCAC BACKGROUND

Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission promotes, educates, advocates, and provides equitable services to elevate the quality of life for the people we serve.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

NKCAC's Senior Workforce Development Program is a new program made available byAmeriCorps Senior. The workforce Development Program offers a second chance to Seniors 55 or older to study in Paralegal Studies or Financial Education Studies

Through the support of AmeriCorps Senior, NKCAC will address community needs related to financial literacy, housing, and employment through our senior participants involvment in assignments that contribute to the improved economic well-being and security of individuals who are economically disadvantaged. The program will cover the 8 Northern counties in Kentucky.

The Senior Workforce Development Program plans to impact the community in 3 ways:

Job Training

Work with individuals from community partners to provide job training, mentoring, resume writing, and other job-related assistance. This contributes to improving economic opportunities by helping individuals with job readiness and overall employment skills.

Financial Literacy

Work with individuals from community partners to directly contribute to individuals’ increased financial knowledge and potential upward economic mobility. Participants will also have the chance to assist in tax preparation for low-income families.

Housing Assistance

Work with individuals from community partners to help families and individuals with housing security, landlord disputes, and other housing assistance needs.
