About Us:

Oxbow, Inc. is a nonprofit land trust dedicated to the preservation, protection, and active management of a 1,600-acre floodplain wetland at the confluence of the Great Miami and Ohio Rivers near Lawrenceburg, Indiana. This ecologically rich area—shaped by annual flooding and historic river paths—is one of the most critical migratory bird stopovers in the central Ohio Valley.

Stewardship Focus for 2026:

In 2025, Oxbow, Inc. celebrates its 40th Anniversary! As the organization moves forward, it does so with a major focus on land stewardship. 

Through habitat restoration, invasive species removal, and water quality improvement - Oxbow, Inc. aims to positively steward the Oxbow Nature Conservancy.

With land stewardship at the forefront of its mission, Oxbow, Inc. has a goal of hiring a full-time Land Steward to effectively preserve, protect, and improve this crucial wetland habitat - However, the organization must raise $400,000 to make this dream a reality.
