$5,000 Goal

Queen City Korfball came to fruition to build out opportunities for Greater Cincinnati Youth to find consistent out of school time activities, to avail students a cooperative co-ed team sport experience not predicated on the final score, and to build travel opportunities with a focus on cultural exchange and service. This is all steeped in the hook of playing a new game—korfball.

Every contribution, big or small, helps us grow Queen City Korfball and make this inclusive sport accessible to everyone. Here’s how your donation can have an impact:

  • $10 gift can support a Recreation Membership for a youth to engage in our Friday Night Lights Program
  • $20 gift provides Queen City Korfball with a brand new ball to jumpstart programming
  • $50 gift will support food and drink for our hardworking Korfball kids!
  • $100 gift provides transportation for youth to their season showcase—playing other teams and taking in different surroundings
  • $200 provides the gift of travel with a passport for our Ambassadors Program
  • $500 gift provides jerseys for one of our program sites
  • $1000 gift supports meals, transportation, and lodging for our Ambassador Trips—Birmingham, AL & Chicago IL for school year 2024-2025
  • $2500 gift helps to suppor as they join the Queen City Korfball Family
  • $5000 gift supports bringing on an assistant coach to help broaden our impact and reach with Queen City Korfball

Who are we? What are we doing?
We are working with several Cincinnati Public School after school programs (e.g. Roll Hill Elementary), youth-serving nonprofits (e.g. Avondale Boys & Girls Club), and Cincinnati Recreation Commission sites (e.g. Lincoln Rec Center) to build out free weekly opportunities for area youth ages 9-18. We aim to bring students together to play with a special emphasis on Fridays and Saturdays where fewer programs are available. Queen City Korfball intends to teach the game while also supporting holistic skill-building for students to be empowered on and off the korfball court. Social-emotional skill building is a focal point in each practice.

Korfball for all ages!

School breaks will be used for trips across the country where students will serve as sport ambassadors teaching other youth the sport of korfball, meeting US National Team members and playing, and partaking in cultural immersion and service experiences. As a part of the Korfball Ambassador Program, we already have trips set up for Columbus, Birmingham, and Chicago. With the sport being popular overseas, there are opportunities down the line where students could earn a passport with Queen City Korfball and even travel to Europe! We aim to play in The Netherlands in 2026.

Your generosity will help us bring on a part-time coach to help jump-start sites that are currently on the wait-list! We are currently a 1-person operation. Additionally, your generosity will help support expenses with the Korfball Ambassador Program.
