The Healthcare Connection Inc

A nonprofit organization

Mission:

The mission of The HealthCare Connection is to provide quality, culturally sensitive, and accessible primary health care services focusing on the medically underserved, underinsured, and uninsured residing in northern Hamilton County and surrounding areas.

The HealthCare Connection:

Established in 1967, The HealthCare Connection (formerly the Lincoln Heights Health Center) was the very first community health center in the state of Ohio.   THCC was founded by Dolores J. Lindsay, a health activist, in a four-room apartment house with a $10,000 grant from Lincoln Heights.  She, along with a handful of churches, volunteer physicians and dentists, pooled their resources and established a medical home that would provide prenatal, pediatric and dental care services for families who had nowhere else to go to get the medical care they needed.

52 years later, THCC is still carrying out that same mission, including a full range of primary care and dental services and working hard to expand and provide a health care safety net for more people in northern Hamilton County.

Today, THCC has 6 locations including the Lincoln Heights Health Center, the Mt. Healthy Family Practice Center, the Forest Park Health Center, 2  Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health  Co-locations, and a Princeton Viking School-Based Health Center.

THCC served over 17,000 patients through over 42,000 office visits in 2019. Of the patients we serve, 56% are children, 81.5% are families with incomes less than 200% of the federal poverty guideline, 16.8% are uninsured and 68% of our patients are a minority.

We provide the only medical and dental safety net for families in need of affordable medical and dental care in northern Hamilton County.  THCC is proudly recognized as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH); the highest level of recognition attainable for quality care.

All gifts collected through the 2020 Cincinnati Gives Campaign will help to support operations and patient care at our Viking School-Based Health Center housed inside Princeton High School & Middle School within the Princeton City School District.

We believe that illness, trauma, and stress shouldn’t limit a child’s opportunity for success.  Our Viking School-Based Health Centers (VSBHCs) are a convenient way to support Princeton students get the care they need when they need it. Your gift today supports our VSBHCs and is an investment in protecting and promoting the wellbeing of children in our community.

We want to continue to ensure that all students can lead their best lives as healthy, engaged students!

We ensure each dollar received is maximized to help students reach their fullest potential!

THANK YOU!  Together we are changing lives and making our community a healthier place!

Because Everyone Deserves Quality Health Care Services!
