SHE+ Foundation

Because of the generosity of donors like you, for 20 years, the SHE+ Foundation has awarded 61 unique grants, totaling over $2.5 million in investment into the advancement of women's health, elevating our understanding of vastly underfunded areas of women’s sexual health. 

Our 2024 Grant Recipients include esteemed institutions like Case Western Reserve University, the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, and MedStar Health Washington Hospital Center at Georgetown University. 

The SHE+ Foundation also empowers women to take charge of their sexual health through educational resources, featured on our Resource Hub, our video series SHE+ Explains, and on our podcast, "Sex Care is Self Care." 

Since 2005, the SHE+ Foundation, formerly known as the Patty Brisben Foundation for Women's Sexual Health, has championed women’s sexual health to better educate and inform healthcare providers and their patients, and we look to you to help us further the movement. 

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance women's sexual health and well-being through groundbreaking research, comprehensive education, and unwavering support. We strive to eradicate stigma, empower women with knowledge, and ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for all, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, or geography.

Women’s sexual health is a vastly underfunded segment of medical science. Without this vital research, doctors can often be left with only speculation and experimentation when treating their patients. Through our grant recipients, we are helping fill in those gaps, so that doctors and patients can be informed and confident in their treatments. Our annual grant cycle funds research in the following focus areas:

3. Intimacy-related Sexual Dysfunction after Cancer Treatments
4. Libido and Sexual Desire
5. Female Genital Mutilation

Our goal is to empower people to understand their bodies, improve communication with their partners and healthcare professionals, thus optimizing their overall physical, sexual, and emotional health. Together, we can enhance sexual health and well-being, one woman at a time.
