What is there to say about 20 Years spent Promoting Wellness, Inspiring Hope, & Changing Lives here at the Recovery Center? How can we put our organization's impact into so many words? How do we bottle up the feeling of community and healing that is found here and share it with others?
I think the answer is simply to just speak from the heart.
20 Years ago the Hamilton County Mental Health and Addiction Services Board had a vision, to bring a Peer-Run Organization right here to Hamilton County, and with the help of Renee Kopache they made it happen. The Recovery Center of Hamilton County was the first of it's kind in Southwest Ohio and in the county. The vision was simple, provide hope, healing, community, and structure all while letting the peers speak for themselves about their recovery journey.
So often when we struggle, we're told who to be, what to take, and how to mold ourselves around the world. Seldom do we have the opportunity, or the place, to figure out what we need for our own mental health. Not to mention, trying to find people who truly understand our struggle can be the biggest challenge we face. But here, we help people find themselves and help them feel less alone.
The true magic that happens in this building is heart-warming, the look on someone's face when something clicks, the smiles on faces, the groups that form at lunch. We see people go from hopeless to hopeful every single day.
This year we are coming together to celebrate 20 Years of the Recovery Center of Hamilton County, of community connection, peer support groups, and holding hope for those who need it.
Please support us in our celebration; all proceeds will be going towards continuing our programming and providing our peers with the opportunity to find their community through outreach efforts.

Hear an excerpt from Alyson's Journey:
"The Recovery Center has meant life to me. We are all so lucky to have such an amazing place in our city. I would not have made the progress I have made without the Recovery Center. Learning some sign language at the Recovery Center was the start to helping me get my speech back. My peers at the center have always showed me compassion and respect. And during the time when I used a wheelchair and could not speak, that compassion and respect showed me that my life was still worth something. Blessings to All the Staff and All the Members at the Recovery Center. You have really meant LIFE to me."
