Please join us by supporting Lindner Center of HOPE’s Touchdown for HOPE event on Super Bowl Sunday, February 2, 2020.   It is The Best Super Bowl Party in Town!

The event takes place inside the FOX Sports Club at Great American Ballpark with all proceeds benefitting our community’s first responders with a patient assistance fund. Donate now, or Click Here to register to attend.

Our first responders (brave individuals who have specialized life-saving training) are among the first to arrive and provide assistance at the scene of an emergency, such as an accident, natural disaster, or terrorist attack.  These incidents are unfortunately all too frequent.  Fire fighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, law enforcement officials and other first responders experience incredible stress, while witnessing tragedies on a nearly unimaginable basis. When these heroes encounter traumatic experiences such as these, it often leaves them feeling as if no one else could possibly understand what they are going through besides their peers. They often don’t turn to experts to help them deal with mental health issues.

There’s an obvious need to provide mental health services to these brave individuals, however not all of them have access to resources like Employee Assistance Programs and counseling.  In a 2016 survey from the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, 37 percent of respondents (majority paramedics and EMTs) said the agency they worked for did not provide mental health services. Furthermore, 76 percent responded “no” when asked if their employer measured the success of the programs it offered. Similarly, 46 percent were working with a provider agency that did not offer health and wellness services. The effectiveness of already limited resources is substantially undercut by the underutilization of services by first responders, often for fear of employer reprisal or retaliation.

With your support, Lindner Center of HOPE will provide education and financial assistance to our first responders who are always ready to help our friends and neighbors in the toughest of times.

Together, WE can make a difference!
